Ron Testa has been making photographs since 1962 receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from the Cleveland Institute of Art. After a brief stint as Assistant Photographer at the Cleveland Museum of Art he joined the U.S. Navy as a Combat Photographer and served three tours of duty in Vietnam stationed aboard an attack aircraft carrier in the Tonkin Gulf.

In 1970 he taught Photography at The Center of the Eye summer workshop in Aspen, Colorado and in 1973 he received a Masters of Fine Arts degree in photography from the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York. He went on to teach at the Baldwin School of New York City from 1973 to 1975 and was Head Photographer at the Field Museum in Chicago from 1975 to 1989. During that time he taught photography at Columbia College in Chicago and was a consultant to the collection at the Chicago House archeological dig in Luxor, Egypt.

Testa’s work has been shown nationally and internationally exhibits at the 200 American Photographers at the American Arts Centre in Exeter, England; Contemporary Artists at The Centre d’Art Contemporaire, Paris, France. At home group exhibits in Vision and Expression at the George Eastman House, Rochester, New York; Photography as Celebration, at the Neary Gallery, San Francisco; Views of Egypt at the Univ. of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee and DePaul Univ. Gallery, Chicago, Illinois; Anchorage Art Museum, Anchorage, Alaska; Open Online Exhibit at the Photomedia Center, Eire, Pennsylvania and many other exhibits.
