David L. Brown is a graduate of the Visual Studies Workshop, class of 1971.

This photo was taken at the first ever exhibition at the Slightly Sloping Gallery of the original VSW building in 1970. Nathan is polishing the plate of an oversized Xerox machine that guests were taking self portraits on. Joel Swartz, is in the background on the right. A print of this photo has never been offered for sale.
