Romy Hosford is a multimedia artist and Assistant Professor of Visual Arts at Roberts Wesleyan College. She holds an MFA degree in Visual Studies from Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester, NY, in conjunction with The College at Brockport, SUNY; as well as a BFA and MS in Art Education from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, where she concentrated in ceramics and fiber arts. Her work can be described as storytelling through object, material and historical contexts; often dealing with perception, definition and expectation. In addition, it investigates the concept of memory - personal and cultural, remembering and forgetting. To foster a sense of the domestic, she utilizes found objects and imagery along side created ceramic, fibers, mixed media and photographic/media art elements.
