Oscar Palacio is a Colombian-born, Rochester, New York-based photographer. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy in Andover. His work has been exhibited at Smith College Museum of Art, Julie Saul Gallery, Bonni Benrubi Gallery, Howard Yezerski Gallery and Elias Fine Art among others. His work has been reviewed in publications such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Village Voice, The Boston Globe, Tema Celeste, Art Nexus and Art on Paper. In 2004 and 2005, he was Edward E. Elson artist–in–residence at the Addison Gallery of American Art where he had his first solo museum exhibition, Unfamiliar Territory, in 2005. He was also a resident artist at Light Work at Syracuse University in 2008. Recent exhibitions include the 2010 DeCordova Museum Biennial and Still Here: Contemporary Artists and the Civil War at the George Eastman House.
