Born in Rochester NY, Brian Sargent earned a BFA in drawing and photography from SUNY Purchase. Upon graduating he pursued an internship at the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film, volunteering in the library’s rare book department. After hours Sargent played drums with gallery staff from the Visual Studies Workshop, trading rock steady beats for access to the darkrooms.
Sargent’s photographic work has been selected for numerous national juried competitions. In 2010 he was invited to participate in the International Art Fair at Governors Island with a group of drawings. He has managed moving image archives for the last 10 years while pursuing a career in the arts.
