Joseph D Jachna was born in Chicago, IL. He holds a BS is in Art Education from the Institute of Design where he took photography courses with Harry Callahan, Aaron Siskind and Frederick Sommer. He taught Photography at the Institute of Design under Aaron Siskind for eight years and 32 years in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
