Karen Messerman, artist, professional photographer and art educator, was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her BA in Anthropology at the University of Michigan in 1982 and her MFA in Visual Studies at VSW in 1990. She has been living and working in Berkeley, California since 1991.
