Kay Denton is a fine-art photographer known for her large-format gold-toned contact POP sun prints, as well as wet plate collodion and type 55 Polaroid images. Her subject matter is that of the everyday, the ordinary, the particulars that evoke a lifestyle. Her purpose is to take the viewer deeper into an environment called HOME…telling a story of kinship between internal and external identity. Her photographic education has been mostly thru selected studies with master photographers, as well as being self-taught using an 8X10 view camera (primary format). The past 19 years her work has been exhibited and published in the U.S., Canada, France, and Mexico. Her photographs are in various private collections as well as The Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin.
