Statement

I am interested in the physical contouring of experiences, relationships, and states of mind, creating visual associations of spaces and feelings that I myself am immersed in.

The experience of making these works is for me much like the physical act of diving: trusting inertia and requiring equal parts confidence and vulnerability. In the same way that a buoy is both anchored down and tethered up—sinking, surfacing, and tilting on its axis—I am expressing the pivot between dark uncertainty and hopeful meditation and exploring the threads that link them to each other.
